Congrats on the new baby! My son is now 13 months and I too went through this-I left my job to stay home so I was looking for green, safe and budget friendly products! Target recently has done an awesome job of adding more eco friendly and safe products to the store and they are easy to get to (gotta love that!) I use Berts Bees Shampoo/Body Wash, Dr. Bronners Castile Soap Baby (in light blue) for bubble bath and Method or Berts Bees cream for Diaper Rash-whichever is on sale or I have a coupon for. Both have worked great for my boys sensitive skin.

One of my all time favorite products is by Avalon Organics Baby, I can best describe to a neosporin type of ointment, it works on everything from bumps, scratches, scrapes, lips, or even dry skin. I use it myself too. Its non petroleum so its better than vaseline. Full name is Avalon Organics Baby Protective A, D, & E Ointment. Avalon also makes a great mineral sunscreen. I found these at Babies R Us.

All the best to you :)

I love California Baby. You can get it at Whole Foods, and if you like it you could order larger sizes from their website, but I have also found the larger size body wash at Whole Foods on sale before.

Being a mother of 5, I have tried many, many creams for diaper rash but I stopped looking when I found the Diaper Magic salve from Mama Elle. It heals all diaper rash and prevents them too!! This cream is by far the best!! It is a natural, herbal salve. Mama Elle also makes another skin cream for skin irritations/eczema. Check-it out!! www.mamaelle.com

Good luck with your baby :)

I am here to exchange some good post and information...I only know people were i live but i rarely have anything to do with em.and i can also walk down the shopping streets and meet people that my bro now or people that somehow knows who i am. But again..No real close friends. I live close up to a well traficated rossroad, were i look out the window each day and wonder were all these people are going, because it must be more fun than what i am doing alone in my small apartment. That including gaming and movie/serie watching.

I have a 6 mo. old daughter. I use California baby and love it. Also tried burt's bess. I use the fragrance free shampoo/body wash from California Baby. I tired the scented stuff, but it seemed to give her dry patches on her body, so I switched to fragrance free and haven't had a problem w/her getting those anymore. I do use the Peter Rabbit lotion (and love it) on her and it cleared up her dry spots.

Target does carry a good selection too!

I so agree with getting a Chlorine filter for your shower/bath. You can buy one of those ball filter things for the bath, but better still, a great investment is a whole house water system. Since I had one installed, my hair and skin is 100% less dry and my husband's psoriasis has cleared up. If you get one, look into a granular carbon activated filter as it's more effective and earth-friendly than reverse osmosis or a water softener.
Can't wait for you moms to have the baby recipes in my new book. It doesn't come out till June 2010, but I'll be creating tons of new mom how-to videos and you'll be excited to know that you can literally make all your own baby products, which are more effective and half the price.
