2010 FASHION “MUST HAVE’S”…OR ELSE!!
August 22nd, 2010 by Sophie

I picked up a Sunday Fashion Magazine here in England today and splattered across the cover, I read: “MUST-HAVE Fashion For the Fall!” I had a good look through all the “editor’s picks” to try to make sense of all the different styles that are being touted as the pieces you’ve got to have or else you might risk looking like a total loser. All this “must-have” business get’s really tiresome, especially for someone with a penchant for fashion, like myself, but whose also desperately trying to be Green. As I pounded the streets of ever-so Trendy London last week, I noticed that gone were the Grecian Sandals that only a month ago were the thing, and in place of them were great clodhopper, clog-style Read the rest of this entry »

ECO-PANDA SWIMWEAR
July 20th, 2010 by Sophie

A good cover-up is a summer essential for me. On those days when I’m not in the mood to be waltzing around the beach in next-to-nothing, it helps to have a soft terry little something to throw over your teeny bikini. I’m a fan of Eco Panda Swimwear. All of their bikinis and swimsuits are made from recycled nylon. The bikinis are fantastic for teens or for those who don’t need too much support up top!! The terry cover-ups, which come in a variety of styles and colors are perfect for everyone and are reasonably-priced.

SHOE & GIRL CRUSH
June 14th, 2010 by Sophie

Oh dear me – I was on a total spending moratorium and actually doing very well until I happened to cast my eyes upon a little selection of Mink shoes that starting winking at me at The Women Of The Green Generation conference in LA, where I was speaking. Of course I had to have my arm twisted into trying on a pair of incredibly sexy wedges, which were clearly destined to make their way into my closet – I mean totally meant to be – it was like Cinderella, they fit me like a glove!! Anyway, shoe crush (which I now have on Mink Shoes,) aside, these are a line of shoes that you have to know about. Read the rest of this entry »

THE GREAT KAIGHT
May 26th, 2010 by Sophie

Okay – if you travel to NYC (if you live there, you probably know this store already,) you have to visit Kaight – an absolute treasure trove for the G.G.girl. The lovely owner, Kate McGregor, wanted to do something to make a difference and clearly loves brands with a conscience. This small boutique is jam packed with so many goodies, you won’t know where to start. For the shoe-lover, you’ll find every kind of Melissa flip flop and sandal imagainable, and almost the entire line of Coclico shoes, both of which I’ve totally fallen in love with. HEMPTRESS
May 21st, 2010 by Sophie

I’m drooling over these Hemptress Bags. As the name suggests, they’re made from hemp and come in many shapes and sizes. The style pictured is the ridiculously popular “it” eco-purse of the season, the “Mercedes” in aubergine. It’s literally the perfect summer purse – cute enough to tote around day to night, and incredibly practical with it’s roomy interior and outside pockets. Ohhhhh I do love an eco purse!!

MELISSA MEIA
May 17th, 2010 by Sophie

I simply adore Melissa shoes and flip flops. Melissa is an incredibly eco-friendly Brazilian shoe company and this year they have numerous styles that will have your mouth watering. The great thing about Melissa’s is that every single style I’ve tried is ridiculously comfortable, and they’re priced reasonably. They are made of silicone, so most of the styles are machine washable!  Get your feet into summer by snatching up a pair of Melissa’s now! The Melissa Meia (Faux Leopard pictured below), is exclusive to Kaight Shoes, where you can find all the Melissa styles too.

May 13th, 2010 by Sophie

You can’t help feeling a bit sunny when you’re wearing a pair of Sanita Vegan Clogs Being half-Danish, I grew up wearing clogs and they just loved how comfortable and easy they were to slop around in. Sanita clogs are made by a legendary Danish clogmaker, who clearly knows his clogs. With the proper care, your Sanita clogs will last for many years and can even be worn in the winter with a pair of heavy socks.

RISING TIDE
April 5th, 2010 by Sophie

I own a Rising Trade Fair Trade bag and not only use it all the time, but will treasure it for years to come. All the bags are made from quilts that are lovingly handmade in a Fair Trade women’s co-op in India. The “Weekender” bag pictured, is perfect for the gym, a weekend getaway, a beach bag or even a diaper bag. It’s very roomy and all the quilt designs are absolutely gorgeous – plus they’re on sale! So purchase one to make your life and someone else’s life (way off in India), a little more gorgeous!

BE PRESENT
April 2nd, 2010 by Sophie

I am a huge fan of virtually every Be Present garment. Made of 100% Organic cotton, the gorgeous tank pictured, features their classic lily pad logo, which symbolizes beauty, purity and enlightenment. All the Be Present pants are supremely comfortable for yoga or for leisure. Be Present are known for their agility pants (picutured right), made of a lightweight fabric, which literally moves with your body. At the core of the Be Present design, are the Seven Chakras. If you’re in the marke for a pair of lounge/resort pants, look no further than their soft, slouchy, but sexy resort pants, which feels although you’re wrapped in cotton.
