My New Year’s Resolution this year was to eat more vegetables and I’ve found that the easiest way to increase my servings of vegetables has been by drinking glorious green juice!

Eating an alkaline diet is a delicious way to improve the quality of your skin, regulate your metabolism, and increase overall energy.  Acidic foods such as white flour, sugar, and coffee create inflammation in the body because they spike insulin levels that then produce inflammation.  Inflammation then leads to decreased immune function and depletion of anti-oxidants, thus contributing to premature aging and fatigue.  So to put more yummy green veggies in my diet I start every morning with this glorious green juice.  Organic local produce is the best choice.  Just remember to thoroughly wash all fruits and vegetables before consuming.

 

Glorious Green Morning Juice:

1 cup Grapefruit juice

1 cup Water

3 large Kale Leaves

3 stalks Celery

½ large Cucumber

2 Green Apples

1/4th lemon (without rind)

1 Tbsp ginger (without skin)

1 cup frozen mango or pineapple

Blend and serve!

 

This usually makes enough for me in the morning with another serving leftover for later in the day.  Store any leftover juice in an airtight jar in the fridge. Now you have something to look forward to after a busy day at work…. A healthy drink already there waiting for you!
